MAKE YOUR PHILLY HOLIDAYS - PART II
Couldn't get enough? This Saturday DECEMBER 7 FROM 1-4PM The Department of Making + Doing will host the SECOND of a two part winter craft series where you can design, create, customize, decorate, and eat some festive holiday gifts and crafts.
Lasercut Woodblocks + cards | Ornaments Making | Custom Tees | Philly Icons Cookies and Gingerbread
Bring your family, friends and neighbors. All Ages welcome. Snacks, mulled cider and free parking all afternoon. All fees and material costs are included in the price of the ticket.
This winter craft series explores the ways that digital files can be used to design, create, and personalize a variety of different media. Bring you own vector-based file or use a DM+D created file to:
- cut cards with a laser cutter
- engrave woodblocks for printmaking
- cut heat-transfer media on a plotter for custom tees
- cut a wood template and bend metal around it for cookie cutters
- do something we haven't thought of yet…
- do something you haven't thought of yet…
This is a standalone event. No prior knowledge or experience needed. An array of materials in different colors and styles will be provided so you can customize your creation. However, if you want to bring your own special card, paper stock, or T-shirt go for it!
As always, Come by Drop In + Do, Every Thursday 7-9pm, and meet with people from Philly's Maker Community, work on a project of your own and get help with some ideas that you want to try out for the event.
Free parking is available on the day of the event in the Science Center parking lot located in the back of 3711 off of Filbert St. Drive in, take a ticket and park. When you get to DM+D ask us about chaser tickets that can be used to exit free of charge. Plenty of street parking too.
See You There!
