This three session Intro to Robotics Workshop will teach you how to make a robot starting from a game controller and a pile of parts. We will reserve engineer the controller circuit, add our own motors and sensors, and finally program the controller to interact with the environment. The concepts of design, assembly, and programming will be covered in detail, while we create a full feature robot.
Session 1 will introduce electronics, programming and robotics to participants. The first session will introduce the design and assembly methods for our robot. Once we get that down, we will attach gear motors and begin construction.
In session 2 we will assemble the sensor circuits, attach leads, connect the sensor circuit to the controller, and debug our sensor circuits. This session will be all about circuits. We’ll learn how to wire basic circuits, analyze basic circuits using oscilloscope, how basic sensors work, and how to reverse engineer circuits. This session will allow students to complete a useable robot! The third and final session of Intro to Robotics will be filled with demos, more information about robotics design, and making any improvements to your robot.
