Bhob Rainey and Catherine Pancake present "Allele Wake", a multimedia installation and performance based on a private dialogue between the artists and three female physicians specializing in pediatrics and genetics research. "Allele Wake" extracts the themes explored in this cross-discipline exchange regarding technical processes, creative latitude, emotional risks, public interface, privacy, and physiological dangers present in the participants' daily practices. The installation and performance will present live musicians performing a score incorporating code snippets from genetics research, as well as video incorporating concepts of the dialogue as aesthetic fragments.
