The Building Heroes are excited to now offer the first of many classes on how to design, fabricate, and take home some of their best selling designs from the The Building Hero Project Etsy Store - recently featured in Fast Company! Join us on Sunday April 26th to create laser-cut coasters class led by Building Heroes KC Shoot and Wynn Geary. Each participant will learn how to use Adobe Illustrator to create their design, and will get to see them laser cut right before your eyes out of colored acrylic or wood (set of 5). The skills you will learn in this course can be applied to all kinds of laser cutting projects.
The Building Hero Project is Public Workshop’s young adult community design leadership program. By designing, fabricating and selling products that improve not only public spaces but also homes and everyday lives, the Building Heroes—teenagers, union carpenters, young designers, and many others of all walks of life—hone their skills, grow as a team, and put cash in their pockets, ultimately enabling them to have more impact in Philadelphia and beyond.

Free parking is available on the day of the event in the Science Center parking lot located in the back of 3711 off of Filbert St. Drive in, take a ticket and park. When you get to DM+D ask us about chaser tickets that can be used to exit free of charge. Plenty of street parking too.
